First Painting for 20 Years

Welcome to my site!

Over the past 20 years of telling myself and others that I’m going to paint again as soon as I find the time, I began to consider the prospect that I was perhaps building up to one heck of an anti climax and the pressure I was bestowing upon myself might just, in turn be counter productive.

The best way to start would perhaps be to paint something……anything!

So with the children in bed one night and a few inspirational You Tube videos to hand I embarked on my first painting with a medium I’ve never used before that would either start me on journey to becoming the artist I’ve always wanted to be or uncover the stark realisation that perhaps I can’t paint after all.

To my great relief I rediscovered an experience and enjoyment that I haven’t had since painting at school.  As a consequence I decided to document my progress by creating ExtremeCanvas.com partially to drive me to do more painting, partially for those that might find it interesting but mainly for my children so they can look back in years to come and say, “Daddy did that”.
